Our Approach:
Agencies that provide intercultural development training are springing up all over the world. Most programs focus on learning about specific differences between cultures or on developing sensitivity to cultural differences. At iD8, we take a different approach. We believe that people cannot understand another culture until they first embrace their own cultural heritage and discover their unique cultural values and assumptions. Our training is distinct from many other systems in that we anchor our program in self-awareness. We believe that unless a person becomes conscious of the impact that their own culture has had on their beliefs and practices, they will be unable to step outside of their cultural worldview and take on the perspective of the other. Our goal is to enable people and organizations to see the world through a multicultural lens. In other words, we don’t just teach people about cultures, we train interculturalists.
